In the beginning, you thought “I can do this myself.” and that made the most sense for where your business was at. So you downloaded templates, tried to post a few days a week and figured you’d make it work. And maybe you did. At least for a little while. Now, your business is growing, you have new opportunities, new products, services, a growing client list. You are still managing this by yourself and you are hitting a wall. We both know the amount of time you can spend on marketing, especially when it’s not your specialty. And why should it be? You started your business to do what you are passionate about. Suddenly you feel like a full time marketer, taking valuable time away from the other aspects of your business. Deep down you know you need help. But what are the costs of managing your marketing by yourself? Let’s talk about it.
When you are running a business, the saying “there aren’t enough hours in the day” hits different. Protecting your schedule is critical and DIY marketing isn’t just a few hours a week.
It pulls you out of focus.
You’re mid-project, you pause to draft a post.
You’re on a sales call but thinking about whether you uploaded that content with the right links.
You’re exhausted because you’ve been spending so much energy on “doing marketing”.
When you’re doing that, you’re not selling or perfecting your services. You’re not reaching out to potential clients. You’re not doing the thing you started your entire business for.
Truly think about this.. at your hourly rate, it could easily be thousands of dollars in lost revenue.
You commit to posting three times a week. You do it for ehhh maybe two weeks. Then you get busy, forgot to post, try to catch up with five random posts, then miss another week entirely. This happens to so many people and it is a slippery slope.
The problem? There are several, unfortunately. Not only does your audience not build a routine with you, algorithms don’t reward erratic posting.
And here’s the bigger issue: you can’t scale because you’re already at, if not over, capacity. You can’t suddenly add Pinterest or launch a new campaign or start a newsletter. A marketing specialist can handle multiple channels consistently.
Founders are constantly faced with making dozens of decisions. So many that by the end of the day you can’t even decide what you want to eat. On top of everything you are focused on (in life and work), every post requires dozens of micro-decisions. What should this say? Does it sound authentic? What hashtags? Is this too salesy? Does this match my brand? What should I tag? Is this music too fast?
You’re not trained for this, you have other priorities, so you second guess constantly. Every hour spent deciding is an hour not spent selling.
I constantly meet founders who have good intentions and the right tools. But they don’t have time, they don’t have the formally trained background to make it distinctly theirs and they’re overwhelmed by the amount of decisions that keep getting added to their list.
What they need: someone to create professional, on-brand content that looks and sounds like them. Someone to manage the logistics. Someone to support the decisions. Someone to build consistency and free up their.
That might be social content, campaign planning, graphic design, copy, a rebrand or all of it.
You’re not bad at marketing. You’re just trying to do two jobs (if not more) at once. And you’re paying the price for it.

It’s me, hi, I’m the solution, it’s me (shout-out T-Swift). Seriously though, you don’t have to figure this out alone and you don’t have to bet your entire budget on it either.
I work with founders who are brilliant at what they do but need someone to support the marketing side. Whether you need full strategy and execution, help managing your own content, or a one-off project—I’ve got options that fit where you’re at right now.
We’ll talk about what’s actually costing you, what kind of support would move the needle, and exactly how I can help. Whether that’s full retainer management, campaign planning, social content, copy or supported DIY.
You’ll walk away knowing what you need and what’s possible within your budget. No pressure. And if nothing else, you’ll get to chat with me for 30-minutes and I’m a great time!
I’m going out on a limb here but I’m guessing you didn’t quit your job, take a huge risk, or pour your savings in just to spend Tuesday nights rewriting Instagram captions until you get so frustrated you end up not posting.
